Lula wins Brazil's election with a record vote, stopping the far right's return

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, 80, won Sunday's runoff with 51.8% of valid votes against 48.2% for Flávio Bolsonaro, son of former president Jair Bolsonaro and the far-right candidate. It is the first time since 1989 that a candidate has come back to win after losing the first round. Flávio Bolsonaro has refused to accept the result and says he will ask for it to be annulled.
